Maximizing your organic reach

About our guest

Promoting a product isn’t easy?

And sometimes it feels like you need to pay a lot of money to get your services in front of the right people on social media.

Many people forget to use their organic following to maximize their social reach when selling online. Using your network of friends, followers, & peers can really boost the number of eyes that see what you’re selling.

It can be scary asking people to share your stuff but overcoming that doubt is the key to reaching as many people as possible with your offer.

Chanté Sandiford had the same doubts but she overcame them and leveraged her organic following to secure sales for her app. This podcast dives into the strategies she used as well as talking about the sales process and launching a new business product.

Chanté Sandiford: My biggest hesitation was “who’s going to care?”. I thought I’m going to put this product out and people are going to see it and think “Oh it’s just another person trying to make money”.

I was worried about that. I was worried about being white noise and putting an advertising post out and nobody commenting on it and feeling embarrassed. That was my biggest hold up on launch week.

It was really nice to watch the From Passion to Profession podcast live and hear other PassionFighters stories. Other people in the community did launch week, they said it was great and said don’t be scared.

So I told myself it would be fine, other people are doing it, I can do it. If it’s embarrassing its only embarrassing for a little while so just go ahead and do it. I put everything I had into it.

So that was probably the biggest hangup I had. I was just worried about who would actually respond.

Dan: Once you took the plunge and posted your first hype post can you describe the minutes that followed that?

Chanté: So I made a hype video I was happy with then I said “ok, here we go, I’m going to post it”. I watched it like 100 times too by the way. I thought “Is this good enough” I rewrote the script a little bit too so it sounded more like me. I eventually thought yeah this is fine and posted it to my social media channels.

I posted it all over my social media channels as quickly as possible and then shut all my devices and turned everything off. So it was out there now and I just needed to wait to see any results.

But after I closed my devices I realized that I needed to keep pushing. I thought “no wait I need to get as many people as I can to share this for me”. If I really want to up my probability of people actually responding to it I need to get it in front of as many people as possible.

So the “brand” I built for myself, the vegan health and fitness angle, I built it on Instagram. The community that does follow me they really do respond to these kinds of things, so I literally just got everybody I could to share the video on their Instagram story and that video got like 38000 views.

That was just from me sending it to a bunch of people. People told me they were waiting for me to do something like this, so that was a great confidence boost. So Instagram is a really good tool to use, I was expecting just to use Facebook.

Just reaching out to people, asking for favors, can you share this, do you know anybody? I was really shamelessly plugging myself, and getting my brand in front of as many people as possible.
