Before we get into the holiday season and celebrations, we want to recap all things that changed in Passion in November.

Here’s a list of the changes we made:

  • Video player improvements
  • An improved app submission process
  • Redesigned sales channels cards
  • Video thumbnails

& more.

Let’s dive deeper.

To see these changes, it’s important to note that your app needs to be up-to-date. You can check whether your app is up-to-date by going to your Passion Dashboard > Sales Channels > Apple App Store (for your iOS app) or Google Play Store > Setup (for your Android App).

If the version number you see is anything lower than 3.6, you need to click on the ‘Submit for review’ button, and then follow the steps explained here for Apple App Store and for Google Play Store.

Video player improvements

In November, we dedicated quite a lot of our product effort to video improvements. Here’s everything that we changed:

  • improved hovering & play experience
  • full-screen and settings-related bugs are fixed
  • improved speed adjustment feature
  • volume control added to the player
  • better video player layout

Redesigned sales channels cards

From now on, you’ll be able to see the status of your submitted app in your app builder’s Sales Channels too. It will be displayed on the card of the app you submitted.

You can now see:

  • When your app’s submission is in progress
  • When your app is live
  • If there’s an update available
  • If there’s an error with your app

We added video thumbnails

You now have an option to upload your own picture or select one from the three autogenerated images (the autogenerated thumbnails are automatically selected from the frames on 25%, 50%, and 75% of the video).

By default, the first auto-generated thumbnail is selected and shown on the preview. If you pick any other thumbnail (the uploaded one included), it immediately shows on the video preview.

More improvements

  • Community personal detail pop-up becomes mandatory to be filled
  • The scrolling experience is improved in the Community tab
  • The “Give feedback about the app” button is renamed to “Contact customer support”

Community notifications beta testing

Back in October, we also started Community notifications beta testing. At the moment, our entire UltimatePLUS customer base can use the feature and test it, giving us feedback on how to improve it. Our product team is fully focused on delivering this feature, and we have plans to roll it out to everyone in the future.
